HVG: "A magyar szinkron legendás, minek nyelveket tanulni?"

Cserébe összeszedtem a sorozatok világából a három nekem legkedvesebb angol nyelvű poént.

1. Friends 1/4
Monica: All right, Phoebe?
Phoebe: If I were omnipotent for a day, I would want world peace...no hunger, good things for the rain forest....... And bigger boobs.
Ross: Well, see, you took mine. Chandler, what about you?
Chandler: If I were omnipotent for a day, I'd make myself omnipotent forever.
Rachel: There's always one guy. "lf I had a wish, I'd wish for three more wishes. "
Monica: Hey, Joey. What would you do if you were omnipotent?
Joey: Probably kill myself.
Monica: Excuse me?
Joey: If little Joey's dead, then I got no reason to live.
Ross: Joey, omnipotent.
Joey: You are?

2. Friends 6/18
Joey: Chandler, you know that girl you went to college with who became a movie director?
Chandler: Oh, yeah, Dana Keystone. She was in my movement class.
Phoebe: What's a movement class?
Monica: It's Chandler's way of pretending he didn't take mime.
Joey: Listen, anyway, she's directing the new Al Pacino movie. You gotta get me an audition.
Chandler: Oh. I haven't talked to her in like 10 years.
Joey: Oh, no, no, no. Please, Chandler, I would owe you so much.
Chandler: You do owe me so much. You owe me 3400...
Joey: Hey, hey, dude. Why you changing the subject? What? Will you make the call or what?
Chandler: Okay, I'll try.
Joey: All right. Thanks, you're the best. The last day of auditions is Thursday, so I gotta get in by Thursday. Just remember Thursday. Thursday. Can you remember Thursday?
Chandler: Yeah, so Tuesday?
Joey: Thursday. Look, if you need help remembering, just think of it like this. The third day. All right? Monday, one day. Tuesday, two day.  Wednesday, when, huh, what day? Thursday. The third day, okay?
Chandler: Thank you.
Joey: Okay.

3. The Big Bang Theory 8/5 - Back To The Future' Tense:
Howard: Something doesn't make sense. Look... In 2015, Biff steals the sports almanac and takes the time machine back to 1955, to give it to his younger self. But as soon as he does that, he changes the future, so the 2015 he returns to would be a different 2015, not the 2015 that Marty and Doc were in.
Leonard: This is Hot Tub Time Machine all over again. If future Biff goes back to 2015 right after he gives young Biff the almanac, he could get back to the 2015 with Marty and Doc in it. Because it wasn't until his 21st birthday that 1955 Biff placed his first bet.
Sheldon: Wait. Whoa, whoa. Is “placed” right?
Leonard: What do you mean?
Sheldon: Is “placed” the right tense for something that would have happened in the future of a past that was affected by something from the future?
Leonard: Had will have placed?
Sheldon: That's my boy.
Leonard: Okay, so, it wasn't until his 21st birthday that Biff had will have placed his first bet and made his millions. That's when he altered the timeline.
Sheldon: Yeah, but he had will haven't placed it!
Howard: What?!
Sheldon: Unlike Hot Tub Time Machine, this couldn't be more simple. When Biff gets the almanac in 1955, the alternate future he creates isn't the one in which Marty and Doc Brown ever use the time machine to travel to 2015. Therefore, in the new timeline, Marty and Doc never brought the time machine...
Leonard: W-Wait. Is “brought” right?
Sheldon: Marty and Doc never had have had brought?
Leonard: I don't know. You did it to me.
Sheldon: Oh, I'm going with it. Marty and Doc never had have had brought the time machine to 2015. That means 2015 Biff could also not had have had brought the almanac to 1955 Biff. Therefore, the timeline in which 1955 Biff gets the almanac is also the timeline in which 1955 Biff never gets the almanac. And not just “never gets.” Never have, never hasn't, never had have hasn't.
